Philippians 2:3,4

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

A letter from Pastor Fred:

My life is about two things: Jesus and the Family.

I grew up in a very loving Christian family. Some of my earliest memories are of my mother telling me about Jesus. From that early foundation I learned to love God and I saw the importance of family.

The word "believe" gets tossed around a lot today. You and I "believe" lots of things:

I believe the Cubs are someday going to win the World Series.

I believe "chocolate moose tracks" ice cream is the best flavor ever.

I believe in eating dessert first.

Yet some things in life we believe so deeply we would give our lives for them. I will give my life in order to connect people to Jesus. I believe every life- no matter how wonderful- would be better with Jesus in it. I will also give my life to build up the family. I believe what you are at home is what you really are. I believe what happens at home has more impact on a person spiritually than what happens at church. My personal mission is to build kingdom families that will in turn build leaders for God’s kingdom.

Maybe someday my Cubs will win it all. I’m praying for it, but not counting on it. The one thing I am counting on is this: Jesus said He’s going to build His church and nothing is going to stop Him. That’s a vision worth giving a life for.

Won’t you join His mission?
