The Joy (Just Older Youth) Group is an opportunity for active, mature adults to grow as Christians through social and service activities. They typically meet once a month and do about everything from seeing a play or touring a facility to traveling for a unique dining experience. Where ever they go and whatever they do, they have fun together. This isn’t the “old people” group and who ever tells you that hasn’t seen these people in action. This group is for any age and all are welcomed. Contact the church office for more information or watch the bulletin, newsletter, and church monitors for upcoming events.
A number of years ago a group of three started going to breakfast once a week with a fourth who would benefit from Christian Fellowship. As time passed the group grew and now meet every Friday at Evans. The number attending varies from 8 to 20 who normally start arriving around 8:00 and place breakfast orders around 8:30. After the orders are taken they ask for prayer concerns and praises. Then the group joins hands and is led in prayer.
Picture this: a group of senior men praying out loud while the other patrons seem to tone things down. During the hour they are together, there is ample opportunity for conversation and sharing. The “ringing of the bell” is always a highlight. All are welcome!
Women on a Mission
Come and share time and talents with other women of Christ. Each week you will be using your time to focus on mission work by creating items to help others in need. They will also pray together for the needs of the people being served.
